USC quarterback Caleb Williams was the No. 1 overall pick selected by the Chicago Bears. The Atlanta Falcons drafted Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick despite signing Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million deal a couple of weeks prior.
Even though Dianna Russini, NFL insider for The Athletic, reported that the Texans were "working the phones," general manager Nick Caserio did not trade into the first round. The Texans will have picks in the second and third rounds of the draft on Friday.
Stan and Chris also recap the Chicago Cubs sweeping the Astros. Ace Justin Verlander recorded seven strikeouts through four and a half innings; however the Cubs would win 3-1.
